全国政协委员、雅昌文化集团董事长万捷先生 lately pointed out that although China has attached more importance to aesthetic education in recent years, there is still a long way to go in terms of overall effectiveness. This is particularly evident at the university level, where non-art majors do not have access to "University Art" courses as part of their curriculum. Most educational efforts by schools are focused on improving employment rates after graduation, completely disregarding the significance of art education in students' personal growth.

To address this issue and enhance students' visual literacy, Mr. Wan Jie suggested that universities can incorporate "University Art" courses into their basic curriculum for non-art majors. The aim is to cultivate students' aesthetic awareness and inner cultivation.

The importance of aesthetic education was once emphasized by Lu Xun: "Art can support morality; though art's purpose may not fully align with morality, it is capable of influencing people's temperament and cultivating noble tastes." Aesthetic education plays a profound role in shaping students' qualities through subtle means. According to Mr. Wan Jie, as an essential course within quality-oriented education, art fosters love and appreciation for beauty among students while stimulating their interest in art classes. By cultivating students' artistic sensibilities through aesthetics education, they can also develop better character traits.

In today's society driven by knowledge development, artistic literacy will be a crucial component of talent quality. Aesthetics will become a focal point for cultural research and an intersection between various fields. Mr. Wan Jie believes that just like no tree grows without roots or water flows without source – the cultivation of aesthetic literacy relies on our collective effort towards developing art education.
