2017《客厅》系列，是雷在沉寂的这些年里，对生活的感悟与思考。在她的创作思想阐释中所涉及到的“天机”论断，实际上与古之“圣人立象以尽意”的说辞是一脉相承的。艺术家一旦开口说画，艺术表现便失去了无限性和可能性，形象思维的想象空间也会被压缩到逻辑思维范畴内，更何况人的意识境界、情感体验、以及纯熟的技艺往往是言不能尽意的。

雷的《客厅》系列正是从心理分析出发，在世界之内探索世界，力图构建一个与心灵相通的奇幻之境。她将自己融入到表象之中，仿佛是把想象揉碎后重组起来，穿越了时间和空间，最终创造出原始单纯、梦幻寂静的心象世界 。

这组作品是对艺术语言、形式媒介的尝试和探讨。从雷の艺术发展逻辑看，作品面貌既在意料之外，又在情理之中。它不同于遥远神话，不同于西方表现性绘画图式和效果，也有别于自然论指导下创作出来的人物油画。雷沿着《向日葵》、《危生素》系列创作得到经验和启示，将再现形式、表现手法结合起来，以属于自己的语言讲述故事。

有人认为体现艺术自由两大选项为解构与建构，我认为那只是站在造型角度上的说法。雷通过心像建立超越形体限制直接进入心理层面，从而获得心物统一可能。这《客厅》系列就是以椅子为基点，在图像外的心理空间生成联想类比形象。

Her love for art led her to study at prestigious institutions such as Sichuan Fine Arts Institute Affiliated Middle School (now known as Southwest University) where she honed her skills under renowned professors like Li Xiaofeng ().
